Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tap Star website, products and services. Tap Star (trading as "Tapstars") is operated by B Khanal & P Rai ("Tap Star", "we", "us", or "our"), based in South Australia, Australia. By placing an order, creating an account, or using our products and services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. They are not a substitute for advice from your own legal advisor.

1. Who we are & what we provide

Tap Star provides physical NFC "tap to review" products (such as the Review Card) and a related online platform that lets businesses direct their customers to their Google review page and manage their review activity. Our products contain an NFC chip and a printed QR code that open a web link you control.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of a business.
  • Notify us promptly at support@tapstars.com.au if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

3. Orders & pricing

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD). We reserve the right to update pricing, plans and product specifications at any time; the price that applies to your order is the one shown at the time you complete checkout. We may decline or cancel an order where a product is unavailable, where there is a pricing error, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

4. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

  • Some features are offered on a recurring subscription (monthly or annual). By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fee to your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.
  • Monthly plans: you can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal so you are not charged again, but the current monthly period is not refunded and you keep full access until the end of that paid 30-day period.
  • Annual plans: annual subscriptions are paid upfront for the full year and are non-refundable. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time to prevent the next yearly charge, and you keep access until the end of the paid year.
  • Where a physical product is offered free with a subscription, that product is provided as part of the subscription and may be subject to return or repayment of its value if the subscription is cancelled shortly after purchase.
  • Coupons and discounts are subject to their stated conditions, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn at any time.
  • These cancellation terms apply to the subscription service and do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 10) - for example, your rights if the service has a major failure.

5. Payments

Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider (Stripe). We do not collect or store your full card details on our own servers. Your use of the payment provider is also subject to their terms and privacy policy.

6. Products & your review link

Our products are programmed to open the Google review link (or other URL) you provide. You are responsible for supplying a correct, current and lawful link, and for updating it through your dashboard when it changes. Cards are reprogrammable, and the destination link can be updated by you at any time. We are not responsible for reviews that are missed because an incorrect or outdated link was supplied.

7. Shipping & returns

  • We aim to dispatch orders within 1–2 business days. Delivery times depend on your location and the carrier.
  • If a product arrives faulty or not as described, contact us within 30 days for a replacement or refund.
  • Custom-branded or personalised items may be non-refundable unless faulty.
  • These terms do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 10).

8. Acceptable use

You must use Tap Star products and services lawfully and in accordance with Google's review policies and any other applicable platform policies. In particular, you agree not to:

  • solicit fake, incentivised, paid-for, or misleading reviews;
  • filter, gate or suppress genuine negative reviews, or selectively route only happy customers to public review pages in breach of platform rules;
  • misuse the platform to harass others, infringe intellectual property, or transmit unlawful or harmful content;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with their normal operation.

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that breaches these Terms or that we reasonably consider harmful to others or to the service.

9. Intellectual property

The Tap Star name, logo, website, designs and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use our products and platform for your own business purposes. You retain ownership of the content and information you provide.

10. Consumer guarantees

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures you are entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to section 10, Tap Star is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses (including lost profits or lost reviews) arising from your use of, or inability to use, our products or services. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the relevant product or service, or paying the cost of doing so.

12. Service availability

We work to keep the platform available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may change, and third-party services we rely on (such as Google, email and hosting providers) may affect availability from time to time.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Material changes will take effect when posted, and your continued use of our products or services means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia, and the courts of South Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
